Elizabeth Ann OverturfElizabeth Ann Overturf

July 17, 1977 -
February 1, 2006

On February 1, 2006 at the age of 28 years old, Elizabeth Ann Overturf died from a long and painful battle with breast cancer. She found a lump in her breast at 23 and her doctor told her there was no chance of it being cancer and that she had nothing to worry about. A few years later she started having soreness and pain in her back and neck, but thought nothing of it until one day she got up from bed and could no longer walk. After multiple tests, a bone scan was done and the doctors discovered she had cancer on numerous bones…a terminal diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer soon followed – she was 26 at the time.

Liz had hopes and dreams, not so different from the rest of us. She wanted to own a clothing boutique, own a home, but most of all she wanted to be married with children. She was incredible with children, a gourmet cook, and she loved to shop (for everything!). She also had a brilliant mind, she could answer almost every question on “Jeopardy”. Her laser sharp sense of humor and impersonations made us laugh until we cried.

- Ramona Russell (Liz’s sister)
